Our Mission
Grief and Bereavement Resource Center, LLC is a vital organization based in Columbia, South Carolina which seeks to assist individuals, families, LGBTQ+, veterans, active service members, and their families in expressing their grief healthily and productively.
Our mission is to offer a compassionate and understanding environment where individuals can find solace, connection, and practical tools to navigate their grief journey.
We also strive to inspire and foster proper grief counseling/coaching support to the community, whether emotional, mental, or financial, and provide grief educational resources.
Grief can trigger a wide range of emotions, from shock and anger to guilt and profound sadness. Acknowledging these feelings allows you to process them and gradually find healing.
Remember that grieving is a personal process, and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Be patient with yourself, embrace your emotions, and seek healthy ways to cope with the pain of loss.
Our Goals
Our goal is to be a pillar in the community, where we will offer a one-stop resource center for the grieved and bereaved. The resource center will adapt to the ever-changing culture surrounding grief and bereavement.

Meet the CEO of the Grief & Bereavement Resource Center
The founder of Grief & Bereavement Resource Center, LLC, Sylvia Grant, wears many hats: United States Army veteran, certified grief and bereavement counselor, social worker and a business owner.
In 2018, her nephew, Terrell Devon Grant passed away from leukemia, leading Grant to understand the importance of properly processing grief, coming together to support each other through the grieving process and providing educational resources available in the community.
Her life experience and passion to provide a one-stop resource center for those experiencing grief can thrive and be supported drives the very mission of our foundation.
